Intro to Sketch Workshop with John Frusciante
LOCATION: Spark Arts, 180 Flynn Ave, Burlington
DATE: Saturday, May 24th
TIME: 2:00pm – 4:00pm
RESTRICTIONS: 16+/15 students
DEADLINE: Fri, May 16th
REQUIREMENT: Previous improv experience (Spark Arts drop in classes, teams, etc.)
Do you sit at home watching Saturday Night Live thinking, “I could write something funnier than this?” You’re probably right – but you could use some help!
During the Green Mountain Comedy Festival, you’ll have the unique opportunity of working with John Frusciante, writer/director and performer from the prestigious Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theater in New York.
Learn how to turn your first drafts into funnier, more grounded, better-explored, and funnier second drafts. This workshop will help you identify the funniest part of your sketch and then…do more of that funny thing. You’ll also learn how to give your classmates effective feedback on their sketches.
Please bring a first draft of a new sketch to this workshop or you will face public ridicule via a Jumbotron at a popular sporting event.
Note: John can also be seen performing on the GMCF with Airwolf on Saturday!
STEP 1: Register for this class.
STEP 2: To ensure a slot, you must pay in full by the deadline above.
Cancellation Policy: We can refund 100% of tuition for cancellations made 14 days (or more) before the start of the class. Tuition cannot be refunded on cancellations made fewer than 14 days before the class.
